Corps Cadets is a leadership program developed by The Salvation Army to grow our young people. Corps Cadets uses a BOLD curriculum. BOLD stands for:Bible study, Our Heritage, Leadership and Discipleship; and the units reflect these themes.
A corps cadet is not just a member of a youth group or Sunday school class. Although an active participant in these groups, a corps cadet is a soldier between the ages of 13-18 years old who has taken up a training role within his or her corps. Our corps cadets regularly take part in Sunday meetings as they prepare for future leadership roles. Corps cadets can fulfill a void of discipleship we lack within our corps as we hold to this vital training ministry.
In addition to Sunday evening meetings, there will be opportunities to complete a quarterly service project and to attend an outing. Everyone is welcome to attend any of the events listed on the youth calendar!
Young adults and teens will have several opportunities to go on overnight trips to Little Pine Island Camp, Salvation Army conferences, Acquire the Fire, and other events throughout the year. Most of these trips are available primarily for regular attenders, but some are available to community teens and young adults as well. If you are interested in going on a particular trip, please don't hesitate to ask!
